The Trip

It all started several weeks ago when one of my friends asked me if i
would like to go to madras with him...i was like.. madras..in summer?
i wasnt very sure if that was a good idea...
...i had a lot of stuff going on in my head...and i did need some
time away from my routine.. so i said, what the heck....

so me and 2 of my school friend set out to madras ...that wasnt the
final destination though....
we took a bus from hyd to madras... i promised myself that i would
be awake the entite trip! ... i hardly ever go on trips like these..
.so its kinda exciting for me...
the bus started at 5:30 pm ....but it was just out of hyd only
by 9 pm ..it had to go to all the pickup points ....that was a
real drag!
anyways.... i got the window seat :D (i know i know...
am still a kid inside)and thank the heavens it was a full moon
night.... i could see the horizon pretty clearly.....
there was one stop for dinner at about 12 am i think.....
....initially i wasnt sure where i was... looked like a resort...
..at one side there was a railing... and i could hardly see anything
past that.... it was foggy....there was a big board beside that which read "nagarjunasagar dam" ..... so my brillient mind came to the
conclusion that i was in fact at the nagarjunasagar dam.....damn! :D

none of us where hungry...so the 3 of us just had some softdrinks
and we were back in the bus.... i kept stairing out the window till
about 3 am ... then i guess i passed out.....woke up at about
6 am ...the music in my ear was still playing... i had my mp3
player with me.we got to madras at about 7 am .... we were pretty
hungry .... we then setout to IITM ....one of the guys with me
studied there.... we went to his hostel ..... i met all his friends
....some of em r still there cos they r doing a 5 year course.
the first thing i did was to take out my 80 gb hdd connect it to
one of the computers and look for movies!! .... apparently u can get
a lot of stuff off the hostel network....got about 66 movies that
i didnt have... that makes a total of about 330 moives :D
though hungry i didnt feel like eating anything ...so at the mess
i ordered a mango juice .... i donno...i was half asleep i guess..
... the guy put a glass on the counter ..... i took a sip...
...walked 2 steps...took another sip... and then i realized that it
wasnt mango ....it was someone elses lime juice ...
i know i know... how can anyone confuse lime with mango...sheeeesh.
the guy at the counter raised an eyebrow... i grinned :D ....
.. paied for the lime juice too.

soon it was afternoon.... it was hot... i was sweating like a pig!
...no offence to the pig.
all the guys were taking about a lot of stuff (couldnt come up with
a better sentence..hummm) ..but i was still infront of the computer
copying movies...and also talking to someone really 'interesting' online ...apparently this person also luvs movies. anyways.

at around 4 i was alone in one of the rooms... my friends were no
were to be seen.... then i got a call..... the guys were on top of
a 10 floor water tanker! .....someone forgot to close the entrence
door to the water tank ...so they all climbed up ..... i got there
20 mins after ...took some really kool pics.
later that evening...we played football for a while.....oo and did
i mention about the pondicherry trip ..... we booked a car for 2 days
.....we were supposed to start from mardas at 3 am the next morning....

soon it was night ...... now when there is a bunch of old friends
in a room.. u can only imagine what can happen... am going to refer
to it as a 'OH' party. sadly for then i dont do 'OH' .... all the
guys passed out by 1 am.i was still on the computer though.
now..we had to start by 3 am to pondicherry it was VERY difficlt to
wake up all the guys .... i tried and tried.... finally everyone was
up....n we set off at 4:30 am. (there were 6 of us by the way...for the trip)

it stared raining on the way......i didnt sleep all night..
.so was pretty tired.... but i did manage to stay up for most of
the car ride.now u must be wondering y so early? someone said that
the sun rise from the sea is a view to die for....but sadly we
missed the sunrise.... we started off late remember.
i forgot how beautiful the sea looked ... it was only my second time
at the beach.
Those who know me would proberly be wondering where my digi cam
is all this time... it must shock u to hear that i didnt get my
cam on this trip ....one of my friends had a cam... so i decided
not to get it ....a mistake which i now regret... cos am never
in my 'element' without a camera in my hand ...ofcourse i snatched
the cam from my friend...thats a different story :D
anyways... i took some really kool pics of the sea.

we managed to hire a fishing boat to take us into the sea
...about 10 km in..it was a small boat..... all 6 of us were hanging
for our dear life ....at one point 5 of us threw up.... sea sickness
i guess... or it could have been the OH party effect...hummm.
.. well as for me.... i was the only one in the group who has
motion sickness(not THAT kind of motion...sheeeesh!) ... but strangly
i was perfectly fine!at about 10 am we got back to the car..
... started driving around....we went to 'auroville ashram' ..
.which is one of the tourist attractions of pondi. the ashram is an
interesting concept ....nah... am not gonna bore u with that
piece of detail...

it was soon evening....we decided to go to mahabalipuram
...its a land of beaches and temples..... apparently the temples
are closed for visit after 5:45 ....we got there at 6 ....so we went
to the beach... didnt spend a lot of time there though... it was
very crowded ...i could see more ppl than the beach area....and
here is where i bought some seashells ..... and am very
sorry ....because they stink!! .... i apologize to all who got em :(
finally we were back in madras at about 9 i think...... we had
dinner in a andhra restaurant ....the food was pretty good...
... then we were back at the hostel..... slept till 9 in the morning
......we had to board the bus back home at 7:30 at a bus stop which
was pretty far away....i said good bye to all the guys i met at the
hostel ....and we were off at 1 pm ...hopefully i didnt forget
anything at the hostel....humm...
.. we went to a spencer's shopping mall.... it was pretty huge
..... guess its bigger than the malls we have here.
both my firend were looking for stuff to buy for there girlfriends
..... i on the other hand was looking for something to buy for
someone VERY special..someone who am starting to luv from the
bottom of my heart..... ........ME ME ME ...yay!!..... who do u
think i was talking about eaa??
sheeeesh!
anyways :) .... there was a t shirt i liked....was pretty
expensive.... but i didnt mind.... i still didnt buy it though
..... donno whats wrong with me .. i always hesitate to get something
for myself ..... but my bank balance did go from 14 k to 4 k in 3 hrs
.....yeah i paied for all my friends stuff ...they 'promised' to pay
me back.... ya right!! ..like that will ever happen!

at 5 we had lunnner (er...thats lunch + dinner.... like brunch!!)
we were finally on the bus back home ..again was up for most of the
ride........guess what i did as soon as a got home .....sleep?? ....nah.... connected the hdd to the computer and started watching movies!! :D
hey what can i say thats me ...the geek or what ever u call the type
of guy i am.
the botton line being i had fun ...i really did.... thats after
a very very long time....i was with some of my oldest and closest
friends taking a trip around the country.....er....atleast part of
the country.... what more could u ask for......mmmm...
...god i wish i had bought that t shirt.

now i have no more illusions..... everything is pretty clear now..
there r things in life that u want....but i now realized that there
r things in life that u cant have.... so its usless pursing them
am NOT talking about the t shirt :)

hummm...

well...its been a while since i wrote anything here...the last time i was in here was during my final engineering exams.......lot of things have happened after that..
i graduated...obviously... got a job....am actually at work right NOW....got here at 7:40 am....thats very early ...company timings is 8:30 am to 5:00 pm...got a direct bus today...which rarely happens...anyways....am happy were i am right now....or at least thats what i keep telling myself everyday....am part of a unique group of 13 ppl ....including me that is.....everyone in this group has their own strange place in the universe! humm....okay...am gonna write a little about everyone in this group... i actually got this idea form a friend of mine....thanks santosh!...its more fun to write about someone else than uerself :D
so here goes....and in no perticular order...


Tej AKA cin0777: The tallest guy in the group....getting thin thought....he loves to make everyone laugh....loves vollyball ...plays pertty good too.....but when he wins a game he is sad cos he would then have to play more games to be in the tournment...and when he wins the tournment he is still sad cos he wants to go swimming...i know i know...i really didnt get that either!...u gotta ask him for the explanation.

Pavani AKA cin0781: now this girl is always smiling...u cant help but smile when u look at her.....has a LOT of patients with ppl.... she is always teased by the guys.....but always keeps her cool...some ppl in this group( i believe it was ravi and paridi :D..okok...sorry for mentioning names)damaged her digital camera....it was during my bday party actually.......but she still didnt loose her head!...she was smiling actually....i really didnt get that one either!

A little story before i continue witht the rest of the gang....during my selection process there were 15 ppl for the interview...amoung which 2 were selected... and from another batch 9 were selected... the interview process took a looooong time...all 15 of us were stuck in a lobby for hours...

Kishore AKA cin0783: obviously one amoung the 2 guys selected was me... the other guy was kishore...i dont really remember seeing him during the interviews...in fact he dosent remember me being there either...anyways.... he is the first guy in this group whome i have come to know....he is nice...kind...a good friend.....hey..did u get my pen drive buddy??..........there were these strange moments together were we laughed like there was no tomorrow...for NO APPARENT REASON...it was like someone released laughing gas... am scared of asking him y it happened!!

Asha AKA cin8051: pash ...oops...i mean asha (:D sorry!) also smiles all the time....she is funny, quick witted, kind , tall! ....the list goes on...one of the 2 gals in the group who is married...her husband works in the same company.... a little birdy told me that she cannot cook! ....or atleast not anything other than egg curry!!....now before u get angry at me....read the last line! ..by the way i cannot cook either...i dont even know what stuff goes inside a 'sambar' .or rice...humm....okay...rice is made of rice.....its all very confusing to me.

Ravi AKA cin0780: he is the guy closest to me....i mean he really sits close to me!! .....both of us were selected to be part of the same team....both of has similar tasts for english movies...computer games...staying up late at night ..etc etc...we never really used to talk much during the early days... now i have come to know him better....good guy..good friend...the guy sort of disappointed me once though .....i dont want to talk about that....i have put the past behind me....amoung many other things....u rock dude...and he can cook too.


Jagdesh AKA cin0778: a stright forweard no non sence guy...once his mind sets to finish something...he would not get up untill its done...works very hard.. he got sick during the training...he missed one entire week of training ...but still managed to learn all there is to know about whatever we were supposed to do pretty quickly...good guy...good friend.

Ajay AKA cin0776: now this guy keeps tellin everyone that he is going to quit and join tcs .....ofcourse he was kidding....now we all r one big happy family...who in their right minds wants to quit!! .... :) the guy is kind, smart..good friend.


Srikanth AKA cin0779: U Srikanth? ...Me Anup :) ...the silent guy in the group.... but dont be fooled my his silence and innocent looks.... he can make u go completly crazy with laughter on command! ....he and tej are always bugging each other ...and rest of us just sit and enjoy the show...good guy...good friend...and dosent look anything like his picture on the id card...ro u really srikanth!!?? hummm.

Arun AKA cin0..(yuikes! forgot the number!):
sorry about that arun.......he is smart ,takes control of things...been a teacher at a college...so definetly know how to handle ppl... once we were in a bus together and he told me the kind of questions that were asked to him during his interview.... i kept thinking that if those same questions were asked to me i would have NEVER been selected...cos i didnt know the answeres to even a single one of em!....humm... okay may be i knew the answer to just one....good guy...good friend


Bharathi AKA forgot again!: NOO...thats NOT her id! ....i really forgot! .....
the other lady in the group who is married....we havent spoken much but i know she is very religious...she must have visited all the religious placeses in india! ..or atleast south india ....she is nice and kind.

Partha AKA cin0771: Parth is from the IIT ...he is in the Usability team.....the one guy, i admit, who is wiser than me ....i always thought that i have figured out how the world works......but i have lot to learn from this guy.... we have some really wired conversations sometimes ...which r pertty interesting...
he dosnet seem to like to play any sports ....very smart , good guy ..good friend.


Paridhi AKA cin0770: also fron the IIT ...now what do i have to say about her...humm... by the time she gets to this part of the blog she must be scared to death what i might say! ...she always has this serious look on her face....she always walks with her head down ....she never looks around when she walks!....and when ever she passess by my cubical...her speed increases!... i wonder y...hummmmm. ... i have a gift.... i GET ppl...what i mean is i understand ppl... i can get into their heads and figure out what they might be thinking.
paridhi is only one of 2 ppl i have known so far in my llfe who i DONT GET.
she is nice ...we 'talk' from time to time......am sure i know more about her then she knows about me! ....mmm...well...may be thats because i dont talk about me a lot..... anyways...she is nice....a good friend.



oooooook....so if i have hurt any one of u then just tell me..... or come to Q2-61 to kick me butt!!!!! ...this is the line i wanted u to read asha!
